Councilmember Tossey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #11 -04 -088 RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING MARK FISHER FOR HIS INDUCTION INTO THE NATIONAL FRESHWATER FISHING HALL OF FAME WHEREAS, Mark Fisher was inducted to the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as a Legendary Communicator on April 3, 2011; and WHEREAS, Mr. Fisher has co- hosted the radio program Bear Facts and Fish Tales since 2010, from BOB 106, located in the City of Ramsey, and previously on another radio station since 1992; and WHEREAS, Mr. Fisher, a resident for 23 years of NOWTHEN, located in Anoka County, has been and is an influential voice for the outdoors and the sport of fishing in the community; and WHEREAS, Mr. Fisher won the prestigious BASS invitational in 1994, and has appeared on numerous television programs instructing viewers on various fishing techniques and sharing his passion for the outdoors; and WHEREAS, Mr. Fisher has dedicated his personal time to numerous charitable causes including, but not limited to, YMCA youth fishing programs and charitable fishing tournaments for St. Jude's Hospital and Minnesota Teen Challenge ; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey extends congratulations to Mr. Fisher on his induction into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame and supports his continued presence in the community of Ramsey as an advocate for the outdoors and the sport of fishing to children and adults alike; and WHEREAS, this resolution is presented to Mark Fisher in recognition for his induction into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby commends and congratulates Mr. Mark Fisher on his induction into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Elvig and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Ramsey Councilmember Tossey Councilmember Elvig
