CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, November 15, <br /> 2011, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> Members Present: Mayor Bob Ramsey <br /> Councilmember Randy Backous <br /> Councilmember David Elvig <br /> Councilmember Colin McGlone <br /> Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> Councilmember Jason Tossey <br /> Councilmember Jeffrey Wise <br /> Also Present: City Administrator Kurds Ulrich <br /> Deputy City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br /> Public Works Director Brian Olson <br /> Senior Planner Tim Gladhill <br /> City Engineer Tim Himmer <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Ramsey called the City Council Work Session to order at 7:38 p.m. <br /> APPROVE AGENDA <br /> The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> 1) Update on Long Term Road Maintenance Initiative <br /> Public Works Director Olson reviewed the staff report and requested the Public Works <br /> Committee provide direction. <br /> Mayor Ramsey noted the first question under Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), indicates the <br /> City will spend $90 million in 13 years on roads. He stated most of the City's roads were <br /> constructed in the 1970s and 1980s but it is not realistic to reconstruct all of them in 13 years. <br /> Mayor Ramsey suggested that number be quantified into something that is realistic. <br /> Public Works Director Olson explained that question is indicating the roadwork that will be <br /> necessary but staff knows $90 million will not be spent in 13 years. <br /> City Council Work Session / November 15, 2011 <br /> Page 1 of 9 <br />
