CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: Mayor Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Randy Backous <br />Councilmember Jill Johns <br />Councilmember Mark Kuzma <br />Councilmember John LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Chris Riley (arrived at 5:34 p.m.) <br />Councilmember Jason Tossey (arrived at 6:42 p.m.) <br />Also Present: <br />City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Finance Director Diana Lund <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Public Works Superintendent Grant Riemer <br />Human Resources Manager Colleen Lasher <br />Development Services Manager Timothy Gladhill <br />City Engineer Bruce Westby <br />City Planner Chris Anderson <br />Assistant to the City Administrator Patrick Brama <br />Economic Development Manager Ted LaFrance <br />City Attorney Joe Langel <br />Elwyn Tinklenberg, The Tinklenberg Group <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Strommen called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:31 p.m. <br />2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />2.01: Update on Highway 10 <br />Elwyn Tinklenberg, The Tinldenberg Group, provided an update relating to Highway 10 <br />funding. He stated last week the House bonding bill came out and three local road projects were <br />listed with the Ramsey Armstrong interchanging being one of them. He stated there was an <br />effective meeting between Mayor Strommen and a business owner with House Speaker Thissen <br />relating to the importance of the project. Mr. Tinklenberg stated there have been good meetings <br />with the leadership. Both the majority and minority sides agreed with the bill total and it is <br />important that both keep -that agreement so the negotiation process continues. He stated he <br />expects a smooth end for the bonding bill during the Session. Mr. Tinklenberg pointed out that <br />Ramsey is well served by having a Mayor who knows her way around the Capitol in terms of <br />City Council Work Session / April 8, 2014 <br />Page 1 of 10 <br />
