FINANCE COMMITTEE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 9, 2003, at the Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Chairperson David Elvig Councilmember Sarah Strommen Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman Also Present: Finance Officer Diana Lund Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Riverblood CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Elvig called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 5:31 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT There was none. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #5: Resurface River's Bend and Titterud Park's Tennis Courts Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood stated that at the July 22, 2003 Finance Committee meeting, staff was directed to obtain bids on tennis court resurfacing at River's Bend and Titterud Parks. Staff presented a resolution recommending awarding the work to Dermco-La Vine Construction for the resurfacing. The cost of performing the work at both sites would be $10,992. An alternative would be to only address the 400 feet of crack at Titterud Park's courts. This would be $1,600 or approximately 15 percent of performing all of the work at each of the six courts. Funding will be from the equipment revolving fund from depreciable earnings in the amount of $10,802 with the additional funding of $190 from the park maintenance budget. Councihnember Strommen questioned the life of the resurfacing. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood replied that the courts were last resurfaced in 1989. Motion by Councilmember Strommen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to recommend that the City Council adopt the resolution awarding contract to Dermco-LaVine Construction as the lowest responsible bidder.
