WORK MEETING OF CITY OF RANSEY COUNCIL <br /> December 11, 197& <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, Mr. Cox, at 7:30 <br />p.m. Present were Mr. Gotham, Mr. Reimann, Mr..Nickelson, and <br />Mrs. Oliphant. Mr. Goodrich.and Mr. Steffens~were alsopresent. <br /> <br />The only comment from residents for their fifteen minutes was <br />from Mr. Emmans, who stated that Vartolite Street has some very <br />bad holes in the blacktop. He would like to have them fixed. <br /> <br />Mr. Mickelson moved we hire Mr. James Thurston for the position <br />of building inspector and assessor. Seconded.byMr. Gotham. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Reimann moved we send a letter to our former building inspec- <br />tor, Mr. William Pittman, thankinghim for the geed job he had <br />done for our community as part time buildinginspector. Seconded <br />by Mr. Gotham. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Reim~n moved we send a letter to the people, who worked in <br />our past City election for the good job they did under severe <br />handicaps. He also moved we sen~a letter to the County Attorney <br />indicating our appreciation for their cooperation and guidance <br />to see that everything was hamdled properly at the last city <br />election. Seconded by Mr. Gotham. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Reimannmoved we have a PUblic hearing on rezoning from R-1 <br />to B-2 on 56 acres owned by Mr. Martin Gorham and 36 acres owned <br />by Mr. S~ephen Holasek, Mr. Gorham~ lan~d being on both sides of <br />Highway #~7 south of 153rd Ave. and Mr. Holasek's land being <br />south of 153rd and bordering on Hy. #5~ for Jan. 29, 1975 at <br />7:30 p.m. Seconded by Mr. Mickelson- Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Oliphant moved we pass a resolution on the Berg Property on <br />Highway No. 10 west bringing it into the City of Ramseywith the <br />correction in paragraph 5 and 6 to the City of Ramsey. Seconded <br />by Mr. Reimann. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Reimann moved we adopt Ordinance 74-8 setting the minimum <br />square foot requirements for homes and requiring garages in cer- <br />tain instances. Seconded by Mr. Gorham. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Reimann moved these five buildings which are portable, be per- <br />mitted to be moved on to the airport property on a size of ground <br />to be two acres, necessary sewage requirements to be approved by <br />the building inspector, the permit to be reviewed on anannual <br />basis, landscaped appropriately, road easement for access, desig- <br />nate parking area, no closer than 26 feet to each other, building <br />size 2&x36, for the School District No. 11. Seconded by Mr. Got- <br />ham. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Oliphan~ moved we approve the expense for office furniture <br />as listed by Mrs. Guy, the cost not to exceed $1,000, and the cal- <br />culator C-I-iO0-S with memory and tape for $395.00. Seconded by <br />Mr. Reimann. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
