AIRPORT COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Airport Commission conducted a special meeting on Wednesday, August 19, <br />1987 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Jack Ippel, Chairman <br />Mr. Richard Emery <br />Mr. Dave Chapman <br />Mr. Ron Erickson <br />Mr. Virgil Barnes <br />Mr. Don Greenberg <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mr. Dick Sieber <br />Mr. Dennis Donovan <br />Mr. Don Stauffer <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel called the meeting to order at 6:50 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Kent Roessler - Stated he is a user of Gateway North Airport and stated the <br />need for a paved runway at that facility. <br /> <br />The Commission advised the citizen to attend the August 25 public hearing <br />regarding the Airport Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF 6GENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #I: Discuss Barton Sand And Gravel Company's Request For A <br /> Conditional Us~ Permit To Extract AEgregates In The I-1 <br /> !~ustrial District: <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel stated that he and Commissioner Greenberg met with Merland <br />Otto and Peter Raatikka regarding Barton Sand and Gravel Company's request <br />for a conditional use permit to extract aggregates in the I-1 Industrial <br />District; the original request to also establish an asphalt plant on the <br />subject property has been withdrawn. At the meeting it was determined that <br />with some limitations the excavation would have minimum impact on proposed <br />airport improvements. <br /> <br />Commissioner Erickson inquired how Barton's 3-5 year timetable will affect <br />airport improvements. <br /> <br /> Airport Commission/August 19, 1987 <br /> <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
