Councihnember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUITON #04-07-181A RESOLUTION REQUESTING INSTALLATION OF A FENCE AND LIGHTING FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IMPOUND LOT WItEREAS, three vehicles in the possession of the Police Department, waiting for court dispositions, were broken into and damaged while being stored next to the Public Works buildings; and WItEREAS, the Police Department is requesting the installation of a fence and lighting on City Property, north of 142nd Avenue and west of Jaspar Street; and WHEREAS, the property would be used solely as an impound lot for seized vehicles; and WItEREAS, the current unsecured location is difficult to monitor by police staff; and WHEREAS, the proposed location would allow officers to check the vehicles more frequently, provide increased security for them and free-up parking space in the public works parking lot. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Ramsey City Council authorizes the installation of a fence and lighting on City property for use as a Police Department impound lot. 2) That the Ramsey City Council authorizes the costs for the fence and lighting not to exceed $5,100, with the funds being obtained from the Council Contingency Fund or Equipment Replacement Fund. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Pearson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Elvig Councilmember Pearson Councilmember Cook Councilmember Strommen Councilmember Zimmerman and thc following voted against the same: NOlle
