Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #02-05-113 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT #0611 RELATING TO A REQUEST <br />FROM BOB MULLER OF RUM RIVER PLAZA FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO <br />EXCEED SIGN SIZE RESTRICTIONS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey received an application from Rum River Plaza Associates for a <br />conditional use permit to exceed the sign size restrictions on the property legally described as follows: <br /> <br />The north 426.29 feet as measured along the west line of that part of the Southwest Quarter <br />of the Southeast Quarter of Section, 11, Township 32, Range 25, Anoka County, <br />Minnesota, lying westerly of the center line of State Highway No. 47. Subject to road <br />easements over the North and East 33 feet. <br /> <br />("Subject Property") <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />That Rum River Plaza Associates, hereinafter referred to as "Applicant," properly applied for a <br />conditional use permit to exceed the 100 square foot per side sign size restriction by 54 square feet <br />per side. <br /> <br />That the Applicant appeared before the Ramsey Planning Commission for a public hearing pursuant <br />to Section 9.03.04 of the City Code on May 2, 2002, and that said public hearing was properly <br />advertised, and that the minutes of said public hearing are hereby incorporated as a part of these <br />findings by reference. <br /> <br />3. That the Subject Property is approximately 5.13 acres in size. <br /> <br />That the Subject Property and the parcels to the north are zoned B-1 Business. Properties to the <br />south and west are zoned R-1R Single Family Rural and parcels to the east are zoned Planned Unit <br />Development (Rum River Hills Golf Course). <br /> <br />5. That Section 9.12.08, Subd. 1, of the Ramsey City Code states that there shall not be more than one <br /> ground sign and it shall not exceed 100 square feet for each exposed face. <br /> <br />6. That the Applicant owns and operates a multi-tenant retail building on the Subject Property. <br /> <br />That the Applicant is proposing to expand the existing pylon sign located on the subject property by <br />54 square feet in order to provide adequate advertising space for all tenants located in the multi- <br />tenant building. <br /> <br />8. The size of the pylon sign on the subject property will be 145 square feet per side for an aggregate <br /> sign surface of 290 square feet. <br /> <br /> <br />
