Councilmember Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />0 adoption: <br />• <br />• <br />RESOLUTION #00 -05 -137 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HIRING OF JON PEARSON TO FULL - <br />TIME PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER <br />WHEREAS, the Council approved the process to hire a full -time Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker on January 11, 2000; and <br />WHEREAS, staff went through a hiring process where twenty eight applications <br />were received and twelve candidates were interviewed by a panel on April 5 and April 6, <br />2000; and <br />WHEREAS, Jon Pearson was recommended as the panel's first choice. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to hire Jon Pearson for the full -time Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker position effective 4/12/00. <br />2) That in his new position as a full -time Public Works Maintenance Worker, Mr. <br />Pearson will be compensated at an annual rate of $24,794 with two weeks of <br />vacation and be required to complete a six month probationary period. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember Connolly, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Anderson <br />Councilmember Connolly <br />Councilmember Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
