Councihnember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #05-07-217 <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE PAID ON CALL FIRE FIGHTERS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, On May 24, 2005 staff received City Council authorization to recruit Fire <br />Fighters; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, staff has requested authorization to hire six Fire Fighters at $12.50 per hour <br />and the selected candidates will begin employment on or after July 20, 2005; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the selected candidates will be named at the July 26, 2005 City Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br />1) Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />ao <br /> <br />Grant authorization to staff to hire six Fire Fighters at $12.50 per hour. The <br />selected individuals will begin employment on or after July 20, 2005 and the <br />individuals' names will be presented to the City Council for ratification at the July <br />26, 2005 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Grant authorization to hire from an existing eligibility list should Fire Fighter <br />positions become vacant in the next 12 months. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Jeffrey, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereofi <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Pearson <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and thc following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
