FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />q'hc l(amscy Fire Department conducted the monthly officers meeting on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 <br />at Ramscy Fire Station, 15050 Armstrong Blvd. NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />OFFICEI*,S PRESENT: <br /> <br />Chief Kapler <br />Assistant Chief Hoxter <br />Assistant Chief Lemm <br />Officer Lecy <br />Officer Lewandowski <br />Officer Minear <br />Officer Nelson <br />Officer Streich <br /> <br />CALl, TO ORDER <br /> <br />(;hief Kapler called the officers meeting of the Ramsey Fire Department to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />l)uty ofticer for July is Officer Weiss; August Officer Streich; September Officer Lewandowski; <br />()ctobcr Officer Minear and November Office Lecy. Officers approved this schedule. <br /> <br />Thc next officers meeting will be Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />There will be a blood drive for Firefighter Roger Peterson's daughter on July 29th from 2:00 to <br />7:00 p.m. at Station # 1. Administrative Services staff will schedule appointments; however, help <br />is needed fbr that day. Flyers will be handed out and put up at different locations. <br /> <br />More Incident Command booklets will be ordered for those officers who do not have one. <br /> <br />SAFETY CONCERNS <br /> <br />Turnout gear is too heavy for hot summer days. The Department will look at purchasing a <br />lighter ~jacket and possibly pants. Funds for such a purchase might be available from the <br />IA(ms. <br /> <br />l{adios are needed for firefighters doing traffic control. The Department will look into a <br />temporary fix as radios will be included with the new County system. <br /> <br />traffic bag with four flashlights with cones and batteries. <br /> <br />It was asked if the injured person at the Armstrong and County Road #116 incident could <br />have his blood tested, as blood got on firefighters even though they were wearing their <br />protective gear. <br /> <br /> <br />
