PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Personnel Committee conducted a Closed Session meeting on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />Chairperson Jason Tossey <br />Councilmember Randy Backous <br />Councilmember Mark Kuzma <br />Mayor Sarah Strommen (alternate) <br />City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Human Resources Manager Colleen Lasher <br />Police Chief James Way <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember John LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Chris Riley <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairperson Tossey called the Closed Session meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at <br />6:04 p.m. <br />Human Resources Manager Lasher advised that under Minnesota Statutes, the meeting can move <br />into closed session to discuss personnel issues. She indicated the closed session discussion will <br />relate to reauthorization of a leave of absence. The closed session will be tape recorded and that <br />tape will be maintained for a period of eight years. <br />2. COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br />2.01: Consider a Resolution to Re -authorize a Leave of Absence (This discussion was closed <br />to the Public) <br />Human Resources Manager Lasher reviewed the staff report, past approvals for a leave of absence, <br />and recommendation to approve an additional leave of absence through May 31, 2013, for a Police <br />Officer due to a serious medical condition. She advised if approved, it was the maximum amount <br />of leave time allowed per the City's Leave of Absence policy. <br />Following discussion, consensus of the personnel Committee was to recommend that the City <br />Council adopt the resolution approving an additional leave of absence through May 31, 2013; the <br />maximum amount of leave time allowed per the City's Leave of Absence Policy. <br />
