Councilmember Petcrson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #91-05-123 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE 50% MATCH FUNDING SOURCE FOR <br />METROPOLITAN LANDFILL ABATEMENT GRANT APPLICATION FOR A <br />BRUSH CHIPPER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council's FY91 Capital Assistance Grant Program was <br />established to assist counties and municipalities in the purchase of machinery or equipment that will <br />directly contribute to landfill abatement or detoxification of the solid waste stream throughout the <br />metropolitan region; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Public Works Department of the City of Ramsey has identified the need <br />for a brash chipper to contribute to landf'fll abatement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Staff has been directed to submit an application for the FY91 Capital <br />Assistance Grant Program to Metropolitan Council - Metropolitan Landfill Abatement Account for <br />the purchase of a brush chipper; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the purchase price is in the amount of Fifteen Thousand Nine Hundred <br />Ninety Dollars and 00/100 Cents ($15,990.00); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey must specify a funding source for the 50% cash <br />matching requirement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the revenue from the Landfill Tipping Fee Fund is to be expended for the <br />purpose of mitigating and compensating for local risks, costs and other adverse effects of landfill <br />activities, the Landfill Tipping Fee Fund is designated as the funding source for the 50% cash <br />matching requirement. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council hereby directs the Acting City Administrator to submit the application <br />for a Landfill Abatement Grant for the purchase of a brush chipper in the amount of <br />$15,990.00 along with a copy of this resolution to the Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />When the City is notified of the grant award, the City Council hereby directs the Finance <br />Officer to designate the Landfill Tipping Fee Fund - Fund Balance in the amount of <br />$7,995.00 for the City's 50% cash matching requirement. <br /> <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Beyer <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following votexl in favor thereofi <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Hardin <br /> <br />and the following voted against same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
