FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, March 23, <br />1999, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Natalie Haas Steffen <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:15 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS: <br /> <br />Case #1: Site Selection Fire Station #2 <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reported that the first meeting of the Public Safety Committee was held <br />and he was extremely impressed with the group. There was a lot of input on the part of <br />the citizen members. He felt this would be a very good working committee. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler agreed. He furnished the Committee with some background <br />information. The process to construct a second fire station in Ramsey has been in <br />progress for quite some time. This process has been a segment of a long-term plan <br />involving a "three fire station" approach to provide adequate fire service to our City. A <br />committee within the Fire Department developed goals for the new station to accomplish <br />which include, to name a few, shorter response times, safety of arriving and departing fire <br /> <br />Finance Committee/March 23, 1999 <br /> Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
