Councilmember Musgrove introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption:
<br /> RESOLUTION #24-164
<br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTIAL PAYMENT NO. 1 TO NORTH VALLEY, INC.
<br /> FOR JUNIPER WOODS 1ST - 3RD STREET RECONSTRUCTIONS, IMPROVEMENT
<br /> PROJECT #24-12
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey proposes to reconstruct the streets within the Juniper
<br /> Woods 1", 2nd, and 3rd subdivision as identified within the 2023 — 2032 10-Year Capital
<br /> Improvement Program; and
<br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution 423-130, adopted June 13,
<br /> 2023,the City Council accepted and awarded the proposal to Bolton&Menk, Inc., for topographic
<br /> survey of the project area; and
<br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution 423-129, adopted June 27,
<br /> 2023, the City Council accepted and awarded the proposal to Independent Testing Technologies,
<br /> Inc., for a geotechnical report of the project area; and
<br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution 423-202, adopted August 22,
<br /> 2023, the City Council ordered the City Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for Juniper
<br /> Woods I"—3rd Street Reconstructions, Improvement Project 424-12; and
<br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution 424-042, adopted January 23,
<br /> 2024 the City Council approved final plans and specifications as prepared by the City Engineer
<br /> and authorized advertisement for bids for the same improvements; and
<br /> WHEREAS, proposals were received for Construction Staking and As-built Survey of
<br /> $12,024.00 from Bolton and Menk, Inc. for said improvements; and
<br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Resolution 424-070, adopted March 12, 2024, a
<br /> contract was awarded to North Valley, Inc. of Nowthen, Minnesota, in the amount of$412,370.09
<br /> for said improvements; and
<br /> WHEREAS, as of June 25, 2024 $0.00 has been paid to date; and
<br /> WHEREAS, the Senior Engineering Technician has inspected the completed work and
<br /> recommends partial payment No. 1 to North Valley,Inc. of Nowthen, Minnesota,for improvement
<br /> project 424-12, Juniper Woods I"—3rd Street Reconstruction, in the amount of$390,908.43.
<br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br /> RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA:
<br /> 1) The City Council hereby authorizes partial payment No. 1 to North Valley, Inc. of
<br /> Nowthen, Minnesota for Improvement Project 424-12, Juniper Woods I" — 3rd Street
<br /> Reconstruction in the amount of$390,908.43.
