RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CAPITAL PURCHASE OF ONE SQUAD
<br /> CAR, ALLOCATION OF MONEY TO SET UP INVESTIGATOR VEHICLE AND
<br /> I PURCHA$~ OF RADIO FOR ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES VEHICLE
<br /> WHI~REAS, at thc Council's Finance Committee meeting of lune 8, 1993, it was
<br /> authorized tO.pure, base a thkd replacement squad during 1993, with the intent to rotate the vehicle
<br /> I being replac~ down to Administrative Services; and
<br /> WHEREAS, the cost of this action was $21,493 to be taken from the $33,978 available
<br /> I from the rep ~la~ment fund; and
<br /> WHE.REAS, it has been determined that we can get longer life out of the fleet if the
<br /> i current Inveafl. ga~fs car becomes part of the squad rotation with the remaining oldest squad being
<br /> relegated to I~vestigator uses; and
<br /> wHEREAS, this would result in that we would effectively have four new patrol cars,
<br /> one older Investigator unit and two, rather than squads available for Administrative Services
<br /> one,
<br /> use with relati~el~low mileage; and
<br />I WHEREAS, the additional result is that there will not be a request for purchase of Police
<br /> vehicles in 19~4 tior will there be a request for purchase of an Administrative Services vehicle in
<br /> 1994; and
<br />i~ WHEREAS, the above does have some additional equipment set-up but for purposes of
<br /> the Police Department, the cost, including replacement fund allocation of the prior action and of
<br /> this one, is alY0ut $23,500; and
<br /> I WHE]~EAS, Administrative Services will be installing a radio in one of the vehicles in
<br /> that the resul~at five-car fleet is one radio short; and
<br /> I WHEREAS, the result of the above is an actual cash savings of $9,945 from what is
<br /> available witl~,~ tile, Equipment Replacement Fund; and
<br /> I Finance Committee, at their June 22, 1993 meeting, approved this
<br /> wHEREAS,

<br /> recommendation imd hereby recommends that Ramsey City Council authorize the purchase and
<br /> funding sources a~ detailed within this resolution.
<br /> · NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CffY COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY
<br /> OF RAMSE~, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows.
<br /> I 1) .That ~e F4t~. uipment Replacement Fund contains the following funds: S-1 - $14,300, S-2 -
<br /> $14,2~8, fi/01 - $0, #702 - $12,182, #705 - $I0,848 and g706 - $10,948 with a total of
<br /> $33,97~8 available.
<br /> I 2) That the allocation from the June 8, 1993 Finance Committee meeting was $21,493 toward
<br /> squad,~xep!acement fund and set up. ,
<br />I 3) That ~e allocation for the cost of setting up the Investigator s squad is at a not-to-exceed
<br />iO amoum of $2,000.
