Councilmember Beahen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98-10-245 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />#98-21 (EXTENSION OF SANITARY SEWER AND WATERMAIN TO SECTION 21) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion by the Ramsey City Council on August 11, 1998, the <br />City Engineer has prepared contract documents and specifications for the extension of sanitary <br />sewer and watermain and has presented such contract documents and specifications to the <br />Council for approval. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That such contract documents and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and <br />made a part hereof, are hereby approved. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Administrator shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper <br />and in the Construction Bulletin, an advertisement for bids upon the making of such <br />improvement under such approved contract documents and specifications. The <br />advertisement shall be published for 21 days, shall specify the work to be done, shall state <br />that bids will be received by the City Administrator until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, <br />November 6, 1998, at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council Chambers <br />of the Ramsey Municipal Center by the City Engineer and the City Clerk (or their <br />representatives), will then be tabulated, and will be considered by the Ramsey City <br />Council at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 1998 in the Council Chambers. Any <br />bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an <br />opportunity to address the Council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be <br />considered unless sealed and filed with the City Administrator and accompanied by a <br />cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City of Ramsey <br />for five (5) percent of the amount of such bid. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Beahen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98-10- <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
