CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, <br /> at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> Members Present: Mayor Mark Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Chelsee Howell <br /> Councilmember Debra Musgrove <br /> Councilmember Michael Olson <br /> Councilmember Chris Riley <br /> Councilmember Dan Specht <br /> Councilmember Matt Woestehoff <br /> Also Present: City Administrator Brian Hagen <br /> Finance Director Diana Lund <br /> Police Chief Jeff Katers <br /> Administrative Services Director Colleen Lasher <br /> City Attorney Fritz Knaak <br /> Community Development Director Stephanie Hanson <br /> Planning Manager Todd Larson <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kuzma called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> 2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> 2.01: Continued Discussion on 2025 Budget <br /> City Administrator Hagen reviewed the Staff report in regard to the 2025 budget discussion. He <br /> reviewed the history of how they have gotten to the levy amount they have today. He shared the <br /> items that Staff is suggesting removing from the 2025 budget and push to 2026. He discussed the <br /> cost savings if they did a wage freeze on all department heads. <br /> Finance Director Lund shared that she and City Administrator Hagen attended a meeting with the <br /> Anoka County cities where they discussed the property taxes for the upcoming year. She shared <br /> the preliminary increases for cities in the County. <br /> Mayor Kuzma stated they are playing catch up with their union wages which is having a large <br /> increase on the budget. He added that he does not support a wage freeze as this will only make <br /> things more difficult in 2026 to make this up. <br /> City Council Work Session/August 27, 2024 <br /> Page 1 of 12 <br />
