<br /> <br />City of Ramsey to hold Public Hearing on <br />Amendments to Residential Zoning Districts <br /> <br />WHEN: May 2,2002 - Planning Commission Public Hearing <br />May 28, 2002 - City Council Meeting (Introduce Ordinance) <br />June 11, 2002 - City Council Meeting (Adopt Ordinance) <br />WHERE: Ramsey Fire Station No. 2, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard <br /> <br />A public hearing has been scheduled to. receive comments regarding proposed amendments to the residential zoning dis- <br />tricts. The purpose of the proposed amendments are toimplement the City's recently adopted Comprehensive Plan into the <br />Zoning and Subdivision regulations of the City Code. In the upcoming months, there will be additional public hearings <br />scheduled to consider proposed amendments to other sections ofthe Zoning and Subdivision Chapter. <br /> <br />Inside this mailing you will find an overview of the proposed changes to theresidential zoning regulations. Thechanges <br />include delineations of the districts which are shown on the proposed Zoning Map and text amendments to the Zoning Code. <br />You are encouraged to read all ofthe infonnation before the public meetings. If you are tmableto attend the public hearing <br />on May 2nd, please feel free to submit your written comments to Patrick Trudgeon, Principal Planner, at City Hall or by <br />email atptrudgeon@ci.ramsey.mn.us. A copy of the residential sections can be viewed in their entiety or complete copies <br />can be obtained from Patrick Trudgeon at City Halt <br /> <br />What is the Zoning and what does it mean for my property? <br /> <br />Zoning is a tool that provides cities the means to regulate development in a manner consistent with the goals of its Compre- <br />hensive Plan. Zoning also provides certain rights and privileges to property owners. In short, zoning regulates the type and <br />intensity of use for all properties in the City. Depending on the use or development, perfonnance standards might also apply <br />to ensure existing properties and new developments are operating in a manner that is consistent with the Comprehensive <br />Plan and City policies.
