<br />Councilmember Peters introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #25-295 <br /> <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION #25-295 AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF UMBRELLAS, <br />HIGH-TOP TABLES AND LITTER/RECYCLING RECEPTACLES FOR THE <br />WATERFRONT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey City Council and the Park & Recreation Commission recognizes the <br />importance of Parks, Trails, Open Space and Recreation to the quality of life for Ramsey residents; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Community Parks and their amenities are essential areas for play and creative <br />and cognitive expression, as well as the positive physical development of children; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as part of the city's community park system planning, a water-centric <br />park known as The Waterfront has been envisioned for more than a decade in Ramsey's <br />downtown—and a splash pad or water play area has been the top request by residents for the park; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Council has directed staff to deliver the water play elements with <br />outdoor furnishings for substantial completion by July of 2026, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Umbrellas, High-top Tables and Litter/Recycling Receptacles production <br />and delivery timelines, necessitates their purchases in December of 2025 to meet the above goal; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is member of the Sourcewell and Omnia purchasing <br />cooperatives, and will be purchasing the furnishings through the respective contracts. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) That up to two hundred and forty-three thousand, six hundred and fifty-three dollars <br />($243,653), are hereby allocated from the Park Trust Fund, for the purchase and delivery of <br />the aforementioned items. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Stewart, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Heineman <br /> Councilmember Peters <br /> Councilmember Stewart <br /> Councilmember Buscher <br /> Councilmember Olson <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Specht <br /> <br /> <br />
