Councilmember Pearson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #06-12-384 RESOLUTION TO CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE PAID-ON-CALL FIRE FIGHTERS WHEREAS, On August 22, 2006 staff received City Council authorization to begin a recruitment process to hire ten paid-on-call Fire Fighters; and WHEREAS, staff has requested that the Personnel Committee make a motion recommending that the City Council hire the following eight individuals as paid-on-call Fire Fighters: Justin Borer, Bart Hayft, Chad Hayft, Kyle Hemmerich, Andrew Johnson, Jeffrey Roley, Shane Swedeen, and Lance Weatherly; and WHEREAS, these individuals would be hired at an hourly wage of $l2.50 and would begin employment on December 13, 2006; and WHEREAS, these individuals have successfully completed all background checks and medical exams. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: Hire the following eight individuals as paid-on-call Fire Fighters: Justin Borer, Bart Hayft, Chad Hayft, Kyle Hemmerich, Andrew Johnson, Jeffrey Roley, Shane Swedeen, and Lance Weatherly. These individuals would be hired at an hourly wage of$12.50 and would begin employment on December l3, 2006. Each individual named in this resolution will serve a one-year probationary period and all other personnel policies will apply normally. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Cook, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Pearson Councilmember Cook Councilmember E1vig Councilmember Jeffrey Councilmember Olson Councilmember Strommen
