PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Public Works Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at the
Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota.

Members Present:

Chairperson David Elvig
Councilmember John Dehen
Councilmember Mary Jo Olson

Also Present:

Interim City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson
Public Works Director Brian Olson
City Engineer Steve Jankowski
Civil Engineer II Leonard Linton
Public Works Supervisor Grant Reimer
Utilities Supervisor John Nelson

CALL TO ORDER

Chairperson Elvig called the regular meeting of the Public Works Committee to order at 5:31
p.m.

CITIZEN INPUT

Mr. Scott Rothburn, 15370 Xkimo Street NE, stated he has been dealing with Mike McDowell
regarding the pond area in the rear of their yards. He has a signed petition from the other
homeowners, and they are looking for the pond to be repaired. He asked if there are funds being
held from Arcon by the City that are due towards their pond. He stated the pond is lined and it is
obviously not holding water; he has documentation to prove that.

Mr. Larry Klink, 15390 Xkimo Street NE, stated this pond started out at an upper level. It was
approximately four to five feet higher when he moved in three years ago. They intentionally
bought this walkout lot to enjoy the pond. Since the pond has gone down it does not naturally
have the growth it should have, and instead there are a lot of weeds on the shore. There is a leak
in the pond.

Chairperson Elvig inquired ifthere are Arcon funds being held by the City.

Mr. Rothburn stated their understanding is that the City is holding some of Arcon's money
because all the homes are not sold yet. Their intention is to try to work with the City to get this
resolved.

Public Works Committee I July 17, 2007
