On April 1, 1997, the Planning Commission conducted a public
hearing and City Staff reported a number of deficiencies in the application submittals. The City
Attorney also reported that in his opinion, the size of the proposed project required an environmental
assessment worksheet. The Planning Commission tabled action on the request and continued the
public heating to the regular meeting in May. At the May 6, 1997 Planning Commission meeting, it
was reported that the requested information had not been provided so the Planning Commission
tabled action until the regular meeting in June. At the June 3, 1997 Planning Commission meeting,
the Commission ruled that the public hearing would reconvene and action would be taken on July 1.
However, on July 1, 1997, the meeting was recessed due to power failure caused by a severe weather
storm.

City Engineer Steve Jankowski reported that the applicant has indicated that the ultimate deposition
of the subject property will be the development of residential housing.
