PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on ~gust-4, 1997, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input <br />regarding a request for a conditional use permit for a personal communication service tower; case of <br />American Portable Telecom (APT). <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner Paul Holland <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden convened the public hearing at 7:46 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Planning Intem Kirk Skoog reported receipt of an application from APT to construct and operate a <br />personal communication service (PCS) tower on the Rum River Plaza property located at St. Francis <br />Boulevard and 167th Avenue in Ramsey. The proposal is to construct a monopole of galvanized <br />metal approximately 165 feet in height west of the existing building. An equipment cabinet will be <br />constructed at the base of the tower that is approximately 3 feet wide, 3 feet deep and 5 feet high. <br />Antennas will transmit low power radio signals. He noted receipt of a letter from Ms. Jane Butler, <br />a neighboring resident. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Terry, seconded by Commissioner Deemer to incorporate the letter from <br />Ms. Jane Butler into the record of the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Terry, Deemer, Jensen, LaDue. <br />Voting No: None.
