PUBLIC HEARING <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on ~~~}, 1997, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input <br />regarding a request for a conditional use permit to grade and export soils; case of North Fork, Inc. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner Paul Holland <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden convened the public hearing at 8:14 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that the application from North Fork, Inc. is to excavate in four <br />areas. The first area is in Northfork Highlands Addition for the excavation of 2,000 yards of material <br />for the development of walkout homes. The material removed would be used for a berm along Lot <br />1 and to fill in low areas on Lots 2 and 3. The second area is to excavate approximately 13,000 yards <br />of material from Lots 3 and 4 in the Northfork Lake Addition to so that home construction can be <br />closer to the adjacent roads. The third area is to excavate approximately 800 yards of material from <br />Block 2 ofltasca Shores to Lot 1, Block 1 Northfork Linds 3rd Addition to construct a berm/noise <br />and sight barrier from Highway 10. The last area is to export approximately 35,000 yards of material <br />from Block 2 ofNorthfork Itasca Shores to comply with the approved grading plan of the plat. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Dennis Peck, Contractor for the development of Northfork, stated that the final grading plan for <br />the plat calls for the requested excavation. He noted that the excavation for North Fork Lake <br />Addition was approved previously, but the dirt was not moved.
