PUBLIC HEARING
PLANNING COMMISSION
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Rarnsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, October 7, 1997, at the
Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input
regarding a request for a conditional use permit for a metal accessory building on less than 2.5 acres;
Case of Scott and Lori Jones.

Members Present:

Chairperson David Bawden
Commissioner Benjamin Deemer
Commissioner Paul Holland
Commissioner Sharon Jensen
Commissioner Charles LaDue
Commissioner Bradley Thorud

Members Absent:

Commissioner Michael Terry

Also Present:

Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik
City Engineer Steve Jankowski

CALL TO ORDER

Chairperson Bawden convened the public hearing at 7:33 p.m.

PRESENTATION

Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that the application from Scott and Loft Jones is a request to put
up a metal pole barn on their property at 16000 St. Francis Boulevard. When they purchased the
property, they understood it to be 2.5 acres. However, when it was surveyed for the pole barn, they
found they have 1.7 acres. City Code requires a minimum lot size of 2.5 acres for a pole barn
accessory building. The main concern is for natural screening of the building.

CITIZEN INPUT

Mr. Tom Gamec stated that his property abuts the Jones' property, and he has no opposition to this
application for an accessory building.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Thorud, seconded by Commissioner Deemer, to close the public hearing
at 7:37 p.m.

Public Hearing/Planning Commission/October 7, 1997
Page 1 of 2
