City of _R~m~_~ey Parks & Recreation Commission Minutes of Meeting January 17, 1977 The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. Present were A1 Cooper, Kathy Schneider, John Zobava, Bob Cushman, and Michele Olson. The minutes of the December 16, 1976 meeting were approved as re~d. There was a discussion on changing the number of members onthe commission, but it ~as decided to leave as is. Bob Cushman read a letter sent to him from the Metro Council. He will get a copy of Andovers' syst~ star,sent tc see if any of the laud in the N.E. corner lncludes Ramsey. John Zobava started discussion on additional needs for the skating area at Ramsey School. Bob Cushman suggested that we recommend to the City COuncil the following items for this c~aing year: insulation in the war~ing house a * - flooring for the warming house (woodslates-black rubber)~ door closer for the warming house a flood light for the pleasure rink ~/ music (radio or inexpensive tape player and speakers) John Zobava seconded. Approved 5-0. Kathy Schneider made a motion that we alson recommend to the Council a change of hours for the skating rinks and warming house. Extending them: Monday thru Friday 3:30 p.m. to 5500 p.m. 6:30 p.m. to 9:OO p.m. Weekends ll :O0 a.m. to 5~.OO p.m. 6~30 p.m. to 9~ p.m. Also, $o cleo the warming house if it is-15 degrees below zero, with a sign stating such. A1 Cooper seconded the motion. Approved 5-0. Michele Olson made a motion we recommend to the council to accept tSchard Hollands' application to the Park and Recreation Commission; his term to expire in October of 1979. Ne will fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Robert ScHwartz. A1 Cooper seconded. No vote was taken. The next scheduled meeting is the third Monda~ of the month; Februaz'y 21, 1977.
