PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, January 3, 1995 at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input regarding <br />a request to rezone certain property from B-2 Business and R-1 Rural Residential to R-3 Urban <br />Residential; ease of Anoka Hennepin Independent School District No. 11. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Terry Hendriksen <br />Commissioner Paul Holland <br />Commissioner Bradley Thomd <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that School District No. 11 is in the process of planning an expansion <br />to the Ramsey Elementary School facility. The existing school site is zoned R-1 Rural Residential and the <br />two acquired parcels to the south are zoned B-2 Business, for which schools are not a permitted use. The <br />school is presently considered lawful non-conforming, and to expand a lawful non-conforming use <br />requires a conditional use permit or rezoning. Therefore, School District No. 11 is requesting that the <br />property be rezoned to R-3 Urban Residential, for which schools are a permitted use. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Holland and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to adjourn the public heating. <br /> <br />~Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Holland, Deemer, Hendriksen, and <br />Thorud. Voting No: None.
