BOARD OF REVIEW
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey City Council conducted the annual Board of Review on Monday, April 10,
1995, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey,
Minnesota.

Members Present:

Mayor Glen Hardin
Councilmember Carolyn Beahen
Councilmember Kenneth Peterson
Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman

Members Absent: Councilmember Sheila Beyer

Also Present:

City Administrator Ryan Schroeder
Mark Donnelly, Anoka County Assessor's Office
Ed Thurston, Anoka County Assessor's Office

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Hardin called the regular Board of Review meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.

BOARD OF REVIEW BUSINESS

Ernie Larsen, 7229 - 153rd Lane N.W., Ramsey, stated that he spoke with Mr. Donnelly
prior to the meeting and Mr. Donnely agreed to come to review his home. He stated that
the County has the value of his home listed as $113,300, and he isn't sure that it is worth
that amount.

Dan Jenner stated he was present to represent the Harstad property in the east half of the
City. He stated that the parcel has no means of access - it is landlocked and waterlocked.
The value went up to $46,800 and he felt that it is probably worth only half that amount.

Mr. Ed Thurston, Anoka County Assessor's Office, stated that this parcel is being
reviewed and may be recalculated.

Bob Tomaszewski, 15645 Yakima Street N.W., Ramsey, inquired if the increase in value
was across the board as he felt his property has depreciated in value.

Mr. Mark Donnelly, Anoka County Assessor's Office, stated that Mr. Tomaszewski's
property value went from $129,500 to $138,000, which is consistent with the area.
However, he offered to review it if that's what Mr. Tomaszewski desired.

Following a discussion on how the property value is reached, Mr. Tomaszewski decided to
not have his property reviewed but that since his question was on record, he can pursue
this at the County level if he chooses.

Robert and Sharon Bruns, 14851 Sunfish Lake Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, realized that
living near water normally increases property value; however, they felt that the landfill
being across the road should be taken into consideration.

Board of Review/April 10, 1995
