PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a special meeting on Thursday, April 21, 1994 at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Ben Deemer <br />Commissioner Terry Hendriksen <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Paul Holland <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder (arrived approximately 8:30 p.m.) <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />Bill Smith, BIKO Associates <br />Steven Schwanke, RLK Associates <br />John Dietrich, RLK Associates <br />Jeff Smyser, RLK Associates <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden called the special Planning Commission meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Commission to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Status Report Regarding Updates of Land Use and Transportation <br /> Elements of Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br />Steven Schwanke, a representative of RLK Associates, outlined the land use and transportation <br />issues that have been reviewed by the Comprehensive Plan Subcommittee to date. He furnished <br />the Commission with a document entitled "Working Paper g 1" and a memorandum dated April 18, <br />1994 regarding the Land Use/Transportation Plan Update, advising that these documents were <br />very preliminary. These documents are attached as part of the meeting minutes. <br /> <br />John Dietrich, a representative of RLK Associates, discussed the opportunity to have TH g47 <br />connect directly to Highway 10 via Thurston Avenue by proposing to extend Thurston Avenue east <br />while still in the City of Anoka and creating a new intersection with Co. Rd. gl 16 approximately <br />500 feet west of the existing intersection of TH g47 and Co. Rd. gl 16 (Figure 1 of memorandum <br />dated April 18, 1994).
