PUBLIC HEARING
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Board of Adjustment conducted a public hearing on Thursday, March 17, 1994 at the
Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input
regarding a request for a variance to construct an accessory structure that will be nearer the front
property line than the principal structure; case of Ben Deemer.

Members Present:

Chairperson Benjamin Deemer
Board Member Terry Hendriksen
Board Member Paul Holland
Board Member Charles LaDue
Board Member Michael Terry
Board Member Bradley Thorud

Members Absent: Board Member David Bawden

Also Present:

Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik

CALL TO ORDER

Chairperson Deemer called the public hearing to order at 7:35 p.m.

PRESENTATION

Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that Ben Deemer is proposing to construct a 1,500 square foot
accessory slructure that will be nearer the front property line than his home at 14501 Sunfish Lake
Boulevard N.W. (C.S.A.H. #57). She explained that the hardship for the variance is that the
original builder of the home created a 300 foot front yard setback by the placement of the home.
She added that in addition to substantial amounts of mature tree growth and sharply declining
property in the vicinity of the home, construction of the accessory structure in more appropriate
locations is also prohibited by the location of the well, septic and drainfield system, and an
alternate dminfield area.

CITIZEN INPUT
None

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Board Member Terry and seconded by Board Member Thorud to adjourn the public
hearing.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Board Members Terry, Thorud, Hendriksen, Holland, and LaDue.
Voting No: None. Abstain: Chairperson Deemer. Absent: Board Members Bawden.

Public Hearing/Board of Adjustment/March 17, 1994
Page I of 2
