FIRE BOARD <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Board conducted a special meeting on Wednesday, August 17, 1994, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor James Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Boardmember Alan Pearson <br />Boardmember Robert Simpson <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Fire Chief David Griffin (ex-officio) <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Boardmember Jon McLaughlin <br />Boardmember Charles Williams <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Kay McAloney <br />Fire Fighter James Sharp <br />Fire Fighter Jayme Spence <br />Fire Fighter Steven Wilson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Boardmember Pearson called the special meeting of the Fire Board to order at 7:02 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />A request was made to add a case regarding the purchase of equipment. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Mayor Gilbertson to approve the <br />agenda with the addition of Case #6: Purchase of Equipment. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmember Beyer, Boardmembers <br />Pearson and Simpson. Voting No: None. Absent: Boardmembers McLaughlin and <br />Williams. <br /> <br />Case gl: Process for Filling the Position of Fire Chief <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that Council reviewed the proposed policy for hiring a <br />Fire Chief. They made a suggestion that #5 should include "and a Committee organized by <br />the Fire Board". They then suggested that the number dealing with Fire Board review be <br />deleted because it would be redundant due to the verbiage added in #5. Mr. Schroeder <br />stated that this gets Fire Department personnel involved earlier in the hiring process. The <br />Fire Department also reviewed this policy. <br /> <br />Fire Fighter Sharp stated he is pleased the Department will have input.
