I <br />I$ <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> ! <br /> ! <br /> I <br /> I <br /> ! <br /> ,,. <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, February <br />2, 1993 at th~ Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />to hear input ~garding a request for a conditional use permit renewal for mining operations; ease of <br />Barton Sand ~d Gravel, Inc. <br /> <br />Members Present: Chairperson David Bawden <br /> Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br /> Commissioner Terry Hendriksen <br /> Commissioner Paul Holland <br /> Commissioner Charles LaDue <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />Project Manager James Gromberg <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Hawden called the public hearing to order at 7:54 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTArI'ION <br /> <br />Zoning Admirlistrator Frolik stated a conditional use permit was issued in 1987 to Barton Sand and <br />Gravel. That ~ermit expired December 31, 1992, and they are now rextuesting a renewal. <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Craig Bridges~ 7100 - 149th Lane N.W. - stated his property backs up to the subject property. He <br />inquired about track traffic, dust, noise, and whether Barton Sand and Gravel would fill in the <br />excavated area. <br /> <br />Dick Peterson~ Barton Sand and Gravel, Inc. - stated that the subject property does not contain the <br />quality of gravel that merits a large business. He stated there had been minimal loads hauled out <br />(in 1986, 33 loads; in 1987, none; in 1988, 3 loads; in 1989, 1 load; in 1990, 1220 loads; in 1991, <br />26 loads, and !n 1992, none). Mr. Peterson stated that the water table will stay as it is, that they <br />have never go~ie into the water with their excavations. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to adjourn the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carriexL Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, LaDue, Hendriksen <br />and Holland.
