I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, May 4, <br />1993 at the R~msey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota to <br />hear input regarding proposed ordinance to amend Chapter 9, Sections 9.02 (Definitions) and <br />9.11.02 (Accessory Uses) of the Ramsey City Code. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Members AbSent: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Terry Hendriksen <br />Commissioner Paul Holland <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br /> <br />Commissioner Bradley Thomd <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 7:33 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik summarized the proposed amendments to Chapter 9, Sections 9.02 <br />(Definitions) ~and 9.11.02 (Accessory Uses) <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Larry Wymm, 7929 - 157th Avenue - stated if the City has an ordinance, they should enforce it. <br />He stated thal~it appears the City wants to allow a bunch of pole buildings, but he feels they make <br />the City loo~ like a rural area instead of a residential area. He also referred to rows of junk <br />automobiles ~d suggested something be done to clean up the City, and Ms. Frolik informed him <br />to contact the ~.ode enforcement department. <br /> <br />Rod Caouettei 17320 Driscoll Street N.W. - inquired about the 3-acre threshold and stated he felt it <br />important to regulate the finish of the buildings. <br /> <br />Cindy McKay, 7855 - 157th Avenue N.W. - stated that the ordinance had a threshold of 2.5 acres <br />for quite a fe~ years and she mistakenly believed she had bought a 2.5-acre parcel. She stated that <br />with the proposed change, she now can put up a pole barn making it similar in color and <br />appearance to her house. She inquired about the 75-ft. performance zone, and Ms. Frolik <br />explained soffit, facia, etc. <br /> <br />Steve McKay~, 7855 - 157th Avenue N.W. - stated their object was to have a nice looking yard, <br />and that's wh~, they would like to build a pole barn for storage. <br /> <br />Mr. Caouette iinquired about height restrictions, and Ms. Frolik explained the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br />Public Hearing/Planning & Zoning Commission/May ~, 1993 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
