Council found it difficult with the current setbacks to be able to build a house with a 3-car
garage and make the house still look reasonable. City Council directed the Planning Commission
to initiate action to amend City Code to reduce the garage side yard setback to 6 feet and to conduct
a special m~efing to grant a variance to the garage side yard setbacks in the plat of Amber Ridge so
as not to delay development of the subdivision. Mr. Schroeder stated that Staff has surveyed
surrounding communities and it has been determined that a majority of the communities require a 5
to 6-foot side yard setback on the garage side of the property.

CITIZEN INPUT

None

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Board Member Bawden and seconded by Board Member LaDue to adjourn the public
hearing.

Motion carried.
