FIRE BOARD <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Board conducted a meeting on Wednesday, April 21, 1993 at the Ramqey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor James Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Boardmember James Sharp <br />Boardmember Robert Simpson <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Fire Chief David Griffin, ex-officio <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Boardmember Alan Pearson (Unable to reach him to notify <br /> him of meeting) <br />Boardmember Charles Williams <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Oilbertson called the Fire Board meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Review Recommendations of Interviewing Panel <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin stated that the interviewing panel reviewed the applications and <br />interviewed three individuals for the position of volunteer Fire Fighter. The panel is <br />recommending that two of the three be offered the positions and is further recommending <br />that the applications of the remaining applicants be retained for furore vacancies as night <br />availability becomes needed. The panel also is recommending that one of the applicants <br />interviewed last month be offered the position of volunteer Fire Fighter and the remaining <br />applicant remain on the list for future openings. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Board was to direct the Personnel Coordinator to maintain an active list <br />of applicants for the Fire Fighter positions. <br /> <br />Motion by Boardmember Sharp and seconded by Mayor Gilbertson to recommend City <br />Council approve the offer of the position of volunteer Fire Fighter to Karen Nevison, Kelly <br />Hicks andAllen Staff& <br /> <br />Further discussion: Boardmember Sharp inquired why this meeting was being held when <br />it was determined at the last Fire Board meeting that the Fire Board could just formalize the <br />recommendation of the Interviewing Panel at a regular meeting instead of calling a special <br />meeting tO do so.
