I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Io <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Rau~ey Ci.'ty Council conducted a special meeting on Wednesday, May 19, 1993 at the <br />Ramsey Mumeipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota, in <br />order to interview the finalists for the position of Finance Officer. <br /> <br />Members 'Present: <br /> <br />Mayor James Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Glen Hardin <br />Councilmernber Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney <br />Jessie Hart, Applicant <br />Robert Beane, Applicant <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor (]ilbertson called the special meeting of the City Council to order at 5:35 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Interview Finalists for the Position of Finance Officer <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder reported that the City had received approximately 57 <br />applications for the position of Finance Officer. He stated that following a review by <br />Finance Officer Helling, Senior Accountant Gomez and himself, the number of applicants <br />was narrowed down to 15. Personnel Coordinator McAloney ranked these 15 applicants <br />based upon a scoring sheet. Ten to 12 of them scored 70 or above, the preliminary <br />interviews were conducted and seven applicants were invited to be interviewed. One of <br />those sevon backed out of the interview because of travel expenses, one had a sick child <br />and could not make it to the interview and one declined further consideration for an <br />unknown reason. This left only four people. The four semi-finalists were interviewed. <br />They met for 45 minutes to an hour with the Department Head Panel which consisted of the <br />City A~istrator, Fi,nance Officer, City Engineer and Police Chief and with the Finance <br />Officer Panel which included City of Anoka Finance Director, City of Robbinsdale <br />Assistant Finance Director and the previous City of Brooklyn Center Finance Director. <br />Personnel Coordinator McAloney attended the Finance Officer Panel interviews but did not <br /> <br />Special City Council/May 19, 1993 <br /> Page I of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
