<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Member Absent: <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br /> <br />City Administrator Kurt Ulrich <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Assistant Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />Jodi Ruehle, The Tinklenberg Group <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:38 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Northstar Commuter Rail- Ramsey Station <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted that the City was asked not to make "noise" about a station until all the <br />federal funding was received for the Northstar line and this funding has now been approved. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated that he thinks that the City should start "making noise". <br /> <br />Councilmember Look stated that he thought that there were only so many stations allowed per <br />mile of track, so by law, another station would not be allowed. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that it had nothing to do with the mileage of track, but on the cost <br />effectiveness of the stations. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / January 8, 2008 <br />Page 1 of3 <br />
