Steve Kerr <br /> <br />CALL TO'iORI)ER <br /> <br />Councilme~ber Peterson called the Budget Committee meeting to order at 5:34 p.m. <br />CITIZEN iINPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />COMMIT rEE BUSINESS <br />Case #1:~ Recommendations for a Balanced -Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br /> <br />General Fund Budget, City <br /> <br />City Admi~Strator Schroeder stated there have been a significant number of items cut from the <br />budget and ~fa!. t that the budget submitted is the minimal the City can operate at. He stated that the <br />City of Ram. sey'~tax capacity rate is significantly low in comparison to neighboring cities. If the <br />taxes were in,eased by 14%, Ramsey would still be the second lowest of 35 cities with similar <br />populations~ ~lVlt. Schroeder proceeded to summarize his recommendations for cuts from the <br />budget req~ats.: With regard to community education, Mr. Schroeder reported that he had met <br />earlier withl:$tev¢ Kerr and Finance Officer Helling to discuss the program. He stated that Mr. <br />Kerr would!like ~to be able to deliver a community education program to the City Council in a <br />fashion ace~iabli~ to them but he needs to know what level of service the City wants. <br /> <br />Mr. Steve ~, ~q~Ommunity Education Manager for District #11, stated it would be presumptuous <br />of him to de~ine I~riorifies for the City of Ramsey with regard to community education.
