PUBLIC HEARING <br /> BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramse~ Boai'd of Adjustment conducted a public heating on Thursday, March 26, 1992 at the <br />Ramsey M~m_'cil~al Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota, to hear a <br />request for .a Variance to construct an accessory structure nearer the front property line than the <br />principal strflotur~; Case of Dennis Harper. <br /> <br />Members Prgaent; <br /> <br />Members AbSent: <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />CALL TO iORI}ER <br /> <br />Chairperson Terry Hendriksen <br />Board Member David Bawden <br />Board Member Benjamin Deemer <br />Board Member Paul Holland <br />Board Member Charles LaDue <br />Board Member Michael Terry <br /> <br />Board Member Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Chairpersor~.Hendriksen called the public hearing to order at 7:34 p.m. <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that Mr. Dennis Harper, 14390 Bowers Drive N.W., wants to <br />construct a Sarag~. His property is located in the Critical River District and he cannot construct the <br />structure in ~e rear yard because it would encroach on the river setbacks. Since the side yards are <br />not large enough; Mr. Harper is requesting a variance to construct an accessory structure nearer the <br />front proper~y line than the principal structure. <br /> <br />CITIZEN ~INPUT <br /> <br />Mary Ulleni 144~ Bowers Drive N.W., Ramsey - stated she lives in the home next to Mr. Harper <br />and since h~s ~home has been constructed, her view has been obstructed. She stated that from her <br />kitchen win~ Ow,'~he looks out on the three-season porch that was constructed without consulting <br />her. She fe~l$ that if the additional structure is allowed, it will totally destroy the country setting. <br />She inquireAi Why the structure could not be built on the other side and added that her property will <br />be greatly d~valued if the garage is allowed to be built. <br /> <br />Ms. Ullen s~nt a letter to Ms. Frolik regarding her opposition to the accessory structure which Ms. <br />Frolik disse~ated to the Board Members. <br /> <br />ADJOURI~IMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Board Member Bawden and seconded by Board Member Terry to adjourn the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carfiexl. 7qoting Yes: Chairperson Henddksen, Board Members Bawden, Terry, Deemer, <br />Holland and, LaDue.
