<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Member Absent: <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br /> <br />City Administrator Kurt Ulrich <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Community Development Director Amber Miller (arrived at 7:42 p.m.) <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Parks Supervisor Mark Riverblood <br />Park and Recreation Commission Chair Jill Johns <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 7:28 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Sunfish Lake Park <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood introduced Jeff Schoenbauer and Jason Hamburg from Brauer and <br />Associates who has been helping the City in planning for Sunfish Lake Park. He stated that the <br />City is trying to get resident feedback on what they would like to see in the parks and noted that <br />700 letters have been sent out to residents and businesses within 3,000 feet of the park looking <br />for this information. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoenbauer stated that they have looked at a few different scenarios for the park. He stated <br />that one option incorporated a trail around the north side of the lake that connected to school <br />property and another focused on intersecting trails through the park to the other area parks.
