CANVASSING BOARD <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey ~anvassing Board conducted a meeting on Wednesday, November 4, 1992 at <br />the Ramsay l~Iunicipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members !PreSent: Acting Mayor Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br /> Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> Councilmember Glen Hardin <br /> Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Members Absent: Mayor James Gilbertson <br />CALL T~) ORDER <br /> M~aYo~ Councilmember Peterson called the meeting to order at 5:35 <br />Acting <br /> p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Richard Cich, 6440 - 170th Avenue, N.W., Ramsey, congratulated the candidates <br />elected to ~he Council for the positive tone to their campaigns. <br /> <br />BOARD i BI~ISINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Declare the Results of the November 3, 1992 General Election <br />The City ~2ogneil was presented with a summary statement of election results for the <br />General B~lection held on Tuesday, November 3, 1992. Included within the data was that <br />there wer~ 7,392 pre-election registered voters, 1,219 registrations on the day of election <br />for a totaliof 8,611 total registered voters with 6,738 persons voting. Also presented was <br />that May~ James R. Gilbertson, the only candidate for Mayor on the ballot, received 4,642 <br />votes. Tl~e two persons receiving the most votes for the position of Councilmember, and <br />therefor¢~ai~ing reelection to the seats, were incumbents Gerald A. Zimmerman with <br />2,825 votes ~d Kenneth R. Peterson with 2,317 votes. Also receiving votes for the <br />position olY Councilmember were Dwight "Bear" Marten with 1,719 votes, Dennis Krueger <br />with 669,['A1 Debban with 622, Darrel J. Bebeau with 585, William B. Miller with 482, <br />B.J. (Bengy) Deemer with 464, Michael M. Medina with 422, Grant T. Osman with 350 <br />and Thol~as R. Felton with 330. Additional to the above, it was noted that there were <br />write-in votes fOr both the positions of Mayor and Councilmember. <br /> <br />Motion b~ Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to accept the <br />election ~Sults. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Acting Mayor Councilmember Peterson, Councilmembers <br />Beyer, Itatdinand Zimmerman. Voting No: None.
