<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, June 24,2008, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Mary 10 Olson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Community Development Director Amber Miller <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Assistant City Engineer Tim Himmer <br />Civil Engineer II Leonard Linton <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sean Sullivan <br /> <br />Mayor Garnec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:18 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Himmer noted that Civil Engineer II Linton was having some technical <br />difficulties, so they planned to reverse the agenda items. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />2) Water Tower #3 in Elmcrest Park <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Himmer stated that the preliminary investigation for the water tower site <br />shows that piles will be necessary because of unsuitable soils, which will increase the total cost. <br />He stated that staff has looked at three nearby sites and found ideal soils in the nearby "pumpkin <br />patch".
