<br />ORDINANCE #08-23 <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 7 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE LICENSING AND <br />PERMITS CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7.51 REGULATIONS OF THE POSSESSION, <br />SALE AND CONSUMPTION OF INTOXICATING AND 3.2 PERCENT MALT LIQUOR <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br /> <br />This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the City Charter of the City of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />7.51.09 License Fees; Pro Rata <br /> <br />The following subdivision is hereby added. <br /> <br />Subd 6. A two-tier license fee structure may be established by City council in the annual <br />rates and fees, whereby incentive is provided to a license holder to utilize age verification <br />technology that meets performance requirements determined by the City. <br /> <br />a. The applicant shall be specifically required by sworn statement to declare whether it will <br />utilize age verification technology. <br />b. The applicant must submit verification of the establishment and utilization of a training <br />program for clerks responsible for the sale of alcohol products. <br />c. The age verification system must be used for every alcohol sale for customers under 30 <br />years of age. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />This Ordinance becomes effective upon its passage and thirty (30) days after its publication <br />according to law, subject to City Charter Provision, Section 5.04. <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Ramsey, Minnesota, the 22nd day of <br /> <br />July, 2008. <br />
