<br />RAMSEY TOWN CENTER WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a Ramsey Town Center Work Session on Tuesday, May 30, <br />2006, in the Conference Room at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, <br />Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas G. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sean Sullivan <br />Jim Lasher, LSA Designs Inc. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called ~he regular meeting of the Ramsey Town Center Work Session to order at <br />6:25 p.m. The Mayor discussed a number of items including the street improvement schedule <br />for 2006 construction season, whether the Municipal Center would be open for Happy Days, the <br />building statement for Ramsey Town Center, and the Mayor questioned whether the City of <br />Ramsey should be doing more in the way of marketing with the master developer and secondary <br />developers for the Town Center. <br /> <br />TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Ramsey Crossings RFP Review <br /> <br />The City Council authorized the issuance of Request for Proposals (RFP) to seek out a master <br />developer for the Ramsey Crossings Project in March 2006. The RFP's were sent out the <br />following week and proposals were to be submitted to the City by March 5, 2006. <br /> <br />Three proposals were received for the Ramsey Crossings Project from Ryan Companies, Robert <br />Muir Company, and Shingobee Builders. Staff has been in the process of reviewing the three <br />proposals and will hold proposal interviews with all three developers the week of May 28, 2006. <br /> <br />Mr. Lasher of LSA :Designs provided a short review of all three proposals. The City Council <br />asked questions regarding the process for the RFP's and Mr. Lasher provided an explanation <br />regarding how he views the next stages for the project bringing it to a master development <br />agreement process. The Council discussed the market for retail and commercial development in <br />the area and it was generally agreed that judging by the interest in the proposals, that there is a <br />Town Center Work Session/May 30, 2006 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
