FIRE BOARD <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Board held a regular meeting on Wednesday, February 20, 1991, at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Richard Cich <br />Fire Chief Dave Griffin <br />Boardmember Joel Drahos <br />B oardmember Dean Kapler <br /> <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Boardmember James Sharp <br /> <br />ALS() PRESENT: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator/Finance Officer Sandra Ashley <br />Mr. Elroy Haselius, applicant <br />Mr. Willard Breu, applicant <br />Mr. Alan Pearson, applicant <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:39 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />It wats tile consensus of the Board to approve the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br />BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Interview Applicants to Serve on the Fire Board <br /> <br />Mr. Eh'oy Haselius was interviewed first. He's lived in Ramsey since May, 1990. He was <br />originally from Minnesota; however, he lived in California for many years. He returned to <br />Minnesota upon retiring from the San Diego Fire Department. He was in that department for over <br />13 years and served with truck and engine companies. He also has a degree in Fire Service. <br /> <br />Mr. Willard Breu was then interviewed. He's lived in Ramsey for 20 years. He spent a large <br />amount of time on the original Fire Safety Committee. He added that he's never been a fire fighter <br />or involved ill municipal things, but he feels he has something to add to the Fire Board. <br /> <br />Mr. Alan Pearson was interviewed last. He served on the Fire Board for three years and was a <br />Cou ncilmember when the Fire Department started. He stated he is familiar with the fire fighters <br />and has watched the Fire Department grow from "ground zero" to fully operational. He feels he <br />can serve the City of Ramsey well with his knowledge of the Fire Department. <br /> <br />Chad rman Peterson expressed his excitement with the quality of the applicants. He commented that <br />any of the three would make an excellent choice. <br /> <br />Councihnember Cich agreed that all three men would be an excellent choice and added that he <br />needed more time to decide who should be nominated to the Board. <br /> <br />Fire Board/February 20, 1991 <br /> Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
