FIRE BOARD <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Board held a special meeting on Wednesday, February 27, 1991 at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Chairman Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Richard Cich <br />Fire Chief David Griffin <br />Boardmember Joel Drahos <br />Boardmember Dean Kapler <br />Boardmember James Sharp <br /> <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: None <br /> <br />ALS() PRESENT: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator/Finance Officer Sandra Ashley <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: <br /> <br />Chai~Tnan Peterson called the special meeting of the Fire Board to order at 6:45 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Fire Board to approve the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br />BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #2: Receive Warranty Information on the Pumper <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding a different truck the department was considering. This is a newer <br />vehicle and comes with the hoses; however, it won't hold as much hose as the other truck they are <br />looking at. Chief Griffin stated that since it's become known that the Ramsey Fire Department is <br />seriously considering the purchase of a used pumper truck, more offers have come in. Therefore, <br />he asked that the Board recommend to Council to authorize the purchase of a truck maintaining the <br />$38,000.00 amount and give that authority to the Fire Chief and Finance Officer so Chief Griffin <br />wouldn't have to call a meeting to discuss each truck they find. This way the approval is done and <br />it would save time. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Chairman Peterson to recommend City Council <br />authorize the purchase of a pumper truck at a not-to-exceed price of $38,000.00 and to give the <br />authority to Fire Chief Griffin and Finance Officer Ashley. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Councilmember Cich, Boardmembers Drahos, <br />Kapler and Sharp. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #1: Recommending an Appointment to the Fire Board <br /> <br />The Board proceeded to discuss the candidates. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairman Peterson and seconded by Boardmember Drahos to recommend to City <br />Council appointment of Alan Pearson to serve on the Fke Board for a three year term. <br /> <br />Fire Board/February 27, 1991 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
