FIRE BOARD <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Board conducted a regular meeting on Wednesday, August 28, 1991 at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota, 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson (arrived 6:06 p.m.) <br />Councilmember Richard Cich <br />Boardmember Dean Kapler <br />Boardmember James Sharp <br />Boardmember Alan Pearson <br />Boardmember Joel Drahos <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Sandra Ashley Helling <br />Fire Chief David Griffin <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Kay McAloney, Personnel Coordinator <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Boardmember Pearson called the meeting to order at 6:03. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Boardmember Kapler to approve the agenda as <br />presented. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Boardmember Pearson, Councilmember Cich, Boardmembers <br />Kapler, Sharp, and Drahos. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Peterson. <br /> <br />APPROVE MINUTES <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the Fire Board minutes dated May 15, 1991 at the next Fire Board <br />meeting as the minutes were not received by the members until just before the start of this meeting. <br /> <br />BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1.: Selection Process for Ramsey Volunteer Fire Fighters <br /> <br />Personnel Coordinator stated that Fire Chief Griffin and herself are asking for direction on how to <br />proceed with the selection process for Ramsey Volunteer Fire Fighters. She questioned if the Fire <br />Board would like to interview the applicants and make the recommendation to City Council after <br />the Chief and herself have had a chance to do the initial interview. <br /> <br />Chief Griffin questioned if it was necessary for the Fire Board to be involved and if they want to <br />be. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson arrived. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding whether or not a panel should be formed to include some fire fighters <br />for the interviewing process. <br /> <br />Fire Board/August 28, 1991 <br /> Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
