FIRE BOARD <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Fire Board conducted a meeting on Tuesday, October 22, 1991 at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson (arrived at 7:20 p.m.) <br />Councilmember Richard Cich <br />Boardmember A1 Pearson <br />Boardmember Joel Drahos <br />Boardmember Dean Kapler <br />Boardmember James Sharp <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Fire Chief David Griffin <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Sandra Ashley Helling <br />Assistant Fire Chief Steve Mordson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Boardmember Pearson called ~ the Fire Board meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Boardmember Pearson asked to add Case #2: Request for Helmets to the agenda. <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as amended. <br /> <br />BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #2: Request for Helmets <br /> <br />Boardmember Pearson stated that the Fire Department is requesting four helmets (two red and two <br />white) to enable the Fire Fighters to determine immediately who is in charge at a fire. In case of <br />thick smoke, etc. the colored helmets will be easily spotted. <br /> <br />Motion by Boardmember Pearson and seconded by Boardmember Sharp to authorize the purchase <br />of four helmets (two red and two white) for the Fire Department at a price of approximately $80.00 <br />each. The funding source will be determined by Finance Officer Helling. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Boardmember Pearson, Sharp, Drahos and Kapler and <br />Councilmember Cich. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br /> <br />Case #1: Review Recommendations of Interviewing Panel <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson arrived and chaired the rest of the meeting. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin stated that the Interviewing Panel consisting of Personnel Coordinator <br />McAloney, Fire Fighters Geving, Kapler and Simpson and himself, reviewed the applications and <br />interviewed seven individuals interested in the position of volunteer Fire Fighter.
