PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING AND ZONING <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a Public Hearing to hear a request for an <br />amendment to conditional use permit; Case of Danny's Almninum Processing, Inc. on Thursday, <br />April 11, 1991 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chaim'mn Gerald Zimmerman <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Terry Hendriksen <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Ten'y <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner David Bawden <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman ZimmmTnan called the public hearing to order at 7:43 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Danny K. arst, owner of Danny's Aluminum Processing, Inc. stated that his current CUP does not <br />permit dismantling of engines and transmissions. He wants to consolidate his shops located in <br />Rogers and Ramsey to his location in the City of Ramsey to be able to dismantle engines and <br />transmissions there. He is also proposing an addition to his Ramsey facility. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Bob Brown, Production Design Products, 14161 Basalt Street N.W. stated he's been in business <br />for seven years and he's constantly fighting against the "junk yard" across the street. He stated <br />Mr. Karst's operation has been cleaned up some because of the last public hearing; however, if a <br />new conditional use permit is added, Mr. Karst will be able to dismantle busses, etc. Mr. Brown <br />is concerned with the oil and waste products. He stated he keeps his operation clean and expects <br />the same from other operations in the area. <br /> <br />Jerry Martin, 14021 Basalt, stated he's been after the City for seven years to get this particular area <br />cleaned up. He added that Mr. Karst hasn't conformed to his CUP and in checking with the City <br />of Rogers, he hasn't conformed there either. He suggested the City of Ramsey also contact the <br />City of Rogers. Mr. Martin complained that he's surrounded by jm~k and the City isn't doing <br />anything about it. He also expressed concern with the loading, unloading, parking, debris on the <br />streets and emissions fi'om Danny's Aluminum Processing, Inc.
